Certificate II in Security Operations PRS20103

AUSTUDY APPROVED

This is a nationally accredited course allows officers upon successful state licensing to perform specialist public safety and security duties. Qualified officers will be responsible for using specialist law enforcement and security equipment. Once qualified, officers may seek higher training qualifications which will guide them into specialist career pathways.

This Nationally Accredited Certificate II course is the minimum licensing requirement for Security Officers and Crowd Controllers in all Australian States. Successful candidates completing the course may be endorsed with 4 certifications upon completion of their training depending upon selected units.

1. Security Officer (Unarmed)

2. Crowd Controller (requires additional certificate III units for Queensland candidates)

3. Apply First Aid – Queensland Ambulance Service certified (additional Fee)

4. QLD Government - Dept of Main Roads - Traffic controller endorsement (additional fee)

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have demonstrated competency against all 7 core units plus 4 electives to be awarded a Certificate II in Security Operations.

To achieve the Queensland licencing requirements under the Office of Fair trading the candidate must have demonstrated competency against all 7 core units plus various seleted elective units. Contact Conwal & Associates for details on the various State Licensing requirements.

Candidates entering these programs need to be aware of the licensing restrictions placed on applications for criminal convictions of disqualifying offences within the last 10 years. Candidates also need to be over the age of 18 years to apply for the relevant licenses.

Workshops, self paced assessments, face to face training, supervisors reports and signoffs allow easy transition throughout the course to gain the required qualification. The program length will vary depending on the officers current skill level, knowledge and recognition of prior learning, but is normally achieved over a 10 day period.
