Firearms and Defensive Tactics
Conwal & Associates Operational Safety Training Unit has rapidly become one of Queensland's dynamic weapons and defensive tactics training units outside of the Police service.
The organisation offers a wealth of experience within this highly trained unit, with their senior instructor having recognition and certifications with some of the World’s leading Weapons and Defensive Tactics organisations. Status has been achieved with various organisations such as the Smith & Wesson Academy, Gunsite, Glock inc, PPCT and various Law enforcement agencies.
Courses offered within this field vary from basic weapons appreciation, security officer weapon licensing and re-certifications, concealed weapons training through to tactical firearms negotiation and advanced levels.
Officers can gain National Accreditations on selected specialist areas within Legal and Risk requirements, Threat Analysis, Managing Conflict through Negotiation, Control and Restraint of Persons using Batons and Handcuffs, Defensive use of Firearms, Aerosol Subject Restraint, as well as the practical applications on Body Armour, Shotguns, Semi Auto Pistol, Revolvers, Impact Weapons and Handcuffs.

Departmental and Industry Instructors can be reassessed and certified in National Accreditations, which may encompass Instructor Techniques, Law and Legal Requirements, Range Practises and Procedures, Defensive Tactics and Survival Skills, Instructor and student content.
