Pre-Enrolment Information for students
Applications & Admissions
Conwal & Associates will conduct the recruitment of clients in an ethical and responsible manner, consistent with the requirements of the relevant curriculum. Conwal & Associates will ensure that all selection decisions comply with equal opportunity legislation.
Appropriately qualified staff will assess the extent to which the applicant is likely to achieve the stated competency standards and outcomes of the course, based upon the applicant’s qualifications, experience, proficiencies and where relevant character references.
Enrolment procedures
An enrolment form may be completed either on or off the premises for the relevant course or program. Students are not officially enrolled until an enrolment form is completed and fees are paid. Students must pay all required fees and charges before attending any courses or make alternative arrangements for payment before attending. Delivery Strategies
Each course will be delivered in a student centred learning environment, enabling greater access and flexibility. Methodologies used will be relevant to the students’ needs and learning outcomes of the course
Assessment & Examinations
Conwal & Associates will advise prior to the commencement of training how the competency is to be assessed. Each student will be provided with a unit of competency descriptor, performance criteria, and an assessment plan that states the manner in which the assessments will be conducted.
All assessments are to be submitted to the teacher on, or before, the due date according to the individual training plan. If extensions are required, an extension for assessment form must be completed and handed to your teacher prior to the due date for submission. To achieve success in each unit of competence, the student is required to attain the competencies defined in the learning outcomes and performance criteria. In order to pass your program and be considered competent in your chosen study area you must complete all the requirements of your program to the specified industry standard.

Rules for Students
A student is defined as a person who is officially enrolled in a course/unit/program offered by Conwal & Associates.
Standards
A student must –
Maintain a high standard of behaviour at all times within the premises of Conwal & Associates or premises utilised by Conwal & Associates at that time.
Maintain a behavioural environment, which is free from unnecessary distraction.
Observe all rules and procedures relating to safety, security and the care of Conwal & Associates facilities and equipment.
Misconduct
Misconduct is inappropriate behaviour which
Disrupts the learning of other students
Prevents staff members from performing their duties
Endangers the health and safety of students and staff
Interferes with the conduct of Conwal & Associates operations
May result in damage to Conwal & Associates property or reputation
Unduly interferes with the comfort or conveniences of any person lawfully entitled to be within the premises of ConWal & Associates.
MISCONDUCT MAY RESULT IN A STUDENT BEING EXCLUDED OR EXPELLED, OR IN THE CASE OF A TRAINEE, FINED AND /OR SUSPENDED.
Workplace Health & Safety
Conwal & Associates has a Workplace Health and Safety Policy designed to protect students and staff whilst on any Conwal & Associates premises or engaged in Conwal & Associates activities. Access & Equity
Access to Conwal & Associates training courses and programs is open to all persons provided that they meet the pre-requisites set down for the particular course or program they wish to apply to attend. As these pre-requisites may vary, they are detailed in the brochure applicable to the relevant course or program.
Privacy
Upon request, students can view and have access to their student file/s, results and assessment overviews. Relevant documentation pertaining to the request will be supplied to the student. All original documents are required to remain onsite unless otherwise authorised by a delegate for Conwal & Associates.
Conwal & Associates will take every step to ensure the privacy and protection of the training records and student files.
Advanced Standing
Recognition of Prior Learning
Everyone learns and achieves skills in different ways. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a credible and practical process that looks at what you know and can do, and may lead to recognition for your skills and knowledge - regardless of how you acquired them.
Credit Transfer
Students may apply for a credit transfer towards their chosen program using academic qualifications or school studies that they have completed in the past which match up to relevant units of study in our program. You can apply for a credit transfer of one or more units.
Quality Assurance
Conwal & Associates is committed to a quality system that addresses activities in delivering training and education. Students can rest assured that procedures for ensuring valid and reliable assessment, recording, and certification of educational and training outcomes are in place and are pursued by all members of staff.
To ensure continuous improvements of quality standards, students will be asked to provide feedback and complete an improvement request form.
